Professional training is available upon arrangement. CEUs are often available through an arrangement with St. Louis University and a small processing fee. The fee for the professional training programs listed below is $400 for up to 25 participants and $25 per participant above 25. The workshops are usually two to three hours. Programs are available on site or in our training facility in Arnold.

Recognizing Signs of Substance Abuse

GOAL: To explore ways of dealing with the problems of alcohol and other substance abuse from the viewpoint of the school.

Sexual Harassment for Staff

GOAL: To help participants: 1. Learn the definition of sexual harassment; 2. Examine beliefs about gender roles and stereotypes; 3. Understand some of the reasons why people harass others; 4. Become aware of the damaging results of sexual harassment to the victim and the organization; 5. Reflect on their attitudes toward the opposite sex; and 6. Learn how to react to sexual harassment of themselves, peers or students.

Preventing Teacher Burnout

GOAL: To increase the awareness of the factors that cause teacher burnout by identifying ways teachers choose to care or not care for themselves and by learning techniques, theories and alternative behavior choices that will enable participants to take better care of themselves both personally and professionally.

Teaching Children of Divorce

GOAL: To increase participants awareness of the effect of the divorce process on children and examine ways of assisting young people during a difficult period.

Dealing with Classroom Conflict

GOAL: To learn styles and strategies for managing conflict in a constructive way in the classroom and to create a forum for sharing ideas about dealing with conflict in the classroom.

Developing Positive Self-Concept

GOAL: To increase one's awareness of ways to enhance self-concept by learning strategies and sharing ideas for enhancing self-esteem.


GOAL: To learn more about motivation for use in the classroom by experiencing personally what causes one to feel motivated or unmotivated and by learning techniques for motivating students.
