Vice President of Community Services

Cindy Vessell has worked for COMTREA since 1991. As Vice President of Community Services, she works with managers, directors, staff, and volunteers of COMTREA’s grant-funded service programs. Programs include the School Liaison program with integration in behavioral health, the Children’s Advocacy Center of East Central Missouri, Tails with Tales canine therapy program, and A Safe Place domestic violence shelter. Prior to her current position, Vessel held multiple roles within the Agency including Vice President/Clinical Director of Children and Youth Services and Vice President/Executive Director of the Children’s Advocacy Center. 

Vessell has a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist, Certified Reciprocal Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional Diplomat. She is a member of the board for the Children’s Advocacy Center, and serves on the Missouri Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board, which is a senate confirmed appointment.
