Vision: The COMTREA Housing Department seeks to reduce the incidence of homelessness in Jefferson County and to assist individuals with mental illness, addiction disorders, and other disabilities and their families with obtaining and sustaining safe and stable housing.

Mission: To provide comprehensive and holistic support based on the individual needs and preferences of consumers to ensure a stable living environment.

The COMTREA Housing Department offers community and office based services to individuals experiencing housing issues. Staff members provide resources and intervention as appropriate to the goals and needs of the consumer as assessed during the intake evaluation or during an initial contact. Referrals to the COMTREA Housing Department may come from the consumer or from hospitals, family members, guardians, state inpatient psychiatric facilities and other professionals providing services to a consumer. Comtrea Housing Department staff members provide a minimum of linkage and referrals to individuals who request services but are not eligible for a specific program. COMTREA’s current housing program is the Supportive Community Living Program.
