Kids in Divorce Supported (K.I.D.S.)
Kids in Divorce Supported (K.I.D.S) is a program dedicated to children four through twelve years of age who are experiencing or have experienced the effects of their parents going through a separation or divorce.
The purpose of the K.I.D.S. program is to offer children a chance to express their feelings about the separation or divorce in a peer group setting. The program includes age-appropriate activities that include writing, drawing, and talking about the separation or divorce. Also included in the program are watching pertinent videos on topics related to separation/divorce, along with playing games to help express feelings about the situations.
The program is a single session offered at various COMTREA locations at convenient times. Materials are included in the price of $25. The materials used in the program also give the parents an opportunity to talk with their children about feelings related to the divorce or separation.
